FiboSearch alternative for WooCommerce: Spark Search
FiboSearch is a well known search plugin for WooCommerce, with a free version and a Pro version. Spark Search takes a different set-up: an own search index in your own database, no external service, with synonyms, pinned products, customer service rules and search analytics without tracking. It works for web shops and blogs, and in Breakdance, Divi and Elementor. Below we compare features and approach, as of October 2026. We make no statements about search speed. Where FiboSearch is stronger, we say so.
In short
- Own index in your own database, no external service
- Synonyms, pins and customer service rules included
- Search analytics without IP addresses or cookies
- FiboSearch has a free version and a larger user base
What Spark Search does
Spark Search stores title, SKU (including variants), brand, category and tags in separate, normalised tables. Suggestions appear while typing for products, categories, brands and articles, with a light vanilla JavaScript bundle without jQuery. If a search term finds nothing, a second round follows that tolerates typos. You manage synonyms, pin products and link search terms to pages. The index stays current through WooCommerce hooks and a daily refresh, and you can always reindex manually.
How FiboSearch works
FiboSearch is an autocomplete search plugin for WooCommerce with a free version and a Pro version. The free version searches by title, description, short description and SKU, shows image, price and SKU, and lists categories and tags as suggestions. Pro adds, among other things, search by variation SKU, custom fields and attributes, fuzzy search, synonyms, brands, pages and posts, excluding products and help with embedding. Pro is sold per year per number of sites and products, with a money back guarantee.

Where FiboSearch is stronger
FiboSearch has a free version you can start with at no cost, and a large, proven user base for WooCommerce. Pro offers search in custom fields and attributes and excluding products, and the plans are clearly tied to the number of products per site. There is a money back guarantee and priority support in the higher plans. Spark Search lists no free version. If you want to test at no cost first or need a large established plugin, FiboSearch is a logical choice.
The pricing model in words
Spark Search is priced per number of sites, yearly or monthly, from a single site up to unlimited, with no product limit stated on the product page. Without a licence the plugin keeps working; the licence provides updates. FiboSearch Pro is a yearly licence in three plans that differ in number of sites and maximum products per site; a discount applies on renewal. What is cheaper for you depends on your number of sites and products. We do not name amounts on purpose.
How we compared
We read the Spark Search product page and the FiboSearch pricing page, as of October 2026. We compare features and approach, not search speed. What is not on the FiboSearch pricing page, we report as not stated rather than absent.
Use the search analytics to see where visitors find nothing, and add a synonym per term.
